These are used to say that something is necessary or obligatory.Examples
- There's nothing more I can do for you now. You must get in touch with the seller if you want to get a refund.
- Unfortunately, you didn't get back to us in time. I have to cancel the transaction now and refund the buyer.
- The seller needs to reupload the item so you can repurchase it.
must, have to and need to
Here's something to note:
- In general, must refers to an internal feeling, whereas have to can also refer to an external obligation, e.g. a rule, a time, limit, etc.
- We normally use have to for things that happen repeatedly with adverbs of frequency like always, often, and regularly.
- Must not shows that it is important for something NOT to happen or take place.
