how to present your IELT Listening test without dying in the attempt!

some important information before to start:-The objective of the Listening test is to determine how effectively you can interpret and understand conversations in English -The IELTS listening test laste for a total of 40 min - The IELTS listening recording will last for 30 mins, you will have 10 more mins to transfer your answers.

parts of the IELTS listening test:

There are 40 questions divided in 4 parts :-part 1: conversation between 2 people: social context. (10)- part 2: a speech or talk with just one person: social context. (10) -part 3: conversation between up to four people: educational or training context. (10) -part 4: a talk by one person on an academic subject. (10)

Some common and recent IELTS listening topics:

Part 4- One speaker. This is an academic lecture

Part 2- One speaker. This is often a talk from a guide. You might hear information about: -a building -a resort -a company -a charity

Part 1- Two speakers. This is often a telephone conversation between two people for example:-organising a place on a course -booking a table at a restaurant -renting an apartment. You must listen for specific information (names, dates, times, places and numbers)

Part 3- Three or four speakers . This is academic discussion. It could either be: -two students talking with a professor -a student presenting their resource to their colleagues

Tips for your IELTS listening test:

-The recording will be played only once. You will need to multitask (read,listen and write)

-Practice transferring your answers to the answer sheet at home before your exam, you should use a pencil

-If you don't know an answer, guess. Always write something in the box on your answer sheet. If you miss an answer, just move on, don't waste time

-Question Types: -form completion -note completion -summary completion -sentence completion -multiple choice -diagram labelling -map labelling -table completion -form chart

-Pay attention to: -spelling -plurals -capital letters (it is recommended to use all capital letters) -similar words

-Check the number of words you can have for your answer, each time the questions type changes, the number of words too.
