"My purpose is to assist you with the effective use of technology in your school environment with a focus on improving student learning. We can accomplish this when we work together on what matters most to you and the students you work with!"
Simon Vasey - Laura B. Sprague Instructional Technology Coach
start a Coaching Cycle
- With a coach’s support, teachers focus on implementing strategies that work for their students.
- I use Apple's 4-step coaching model to support teachers’ skill sets and mindset growth. This model focuses on creativity and helps all teachers increase their impactful use of technology.
- It begins with you identifying your instructional and professional interests, challenges, and student wants.
- I then help you address these challenges by using innovative, technology-based strategies.
- The experience is personalized and meets you where you're at!

Technology Training Clinics
Technology Clinics help to get you up-to-speed with a variety of hardware and software! Select a current clinic or email svasey@d103.org to request a clinic!
Supporting your students
Tech Tours are an introduction to a new tool and can be taught primarily by the coach or co-taught with the teacher. Tools range from D103 core apps, coding, robotics, Minecraft: Education Edition, AR/VR, 3D printing and many other cutting-edge experiences that are new for both you and the students. These experiences often lead to opportunities to make these tools part of your permanent digital learning environment. Email svasey@d103.org to discuss your ideas!
Co-planning for Tech Integration
I work directly with teachers to provide classroom support related to technology integration for learning and student engagement. This typically begins with co-planning a lesson or lessons tied to learning objectives and standards, focusing on how various tech tools can enhance or transform the learning.
Co-Teaching and supporting you
I can offer co-teaching experiences, lesson observations, or provide model lessons following a planning meeting. A gradual release of responsibility ensures you have a safety net while trying something new with your students. Student-centered coaching moves to ensure that we both have a shared responsibility for student achievement. Send me an email to get things rolling! svasey@d103.org
Stay Informed
I attend a variety of team meetings across the District throughout the year and have an understanding of the bigger D103 picture. I participate in local and national conferences, allowing me to be following tech news and trends and share ideas that can enhance student learning. Follow here:
