All organisms are made up of one or more cells.
All cells come from pre-existing cells.
English scientist Robert Hooke was the one to say that the smallest complete parts of an organism, which he called cells. theory that all organisms are made of cells, which are the basic structural units of life.
The observation that all living things were made up of cells was discovered by scientists Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann. Schleiden was a biologist and noticed that all the plants that he had looked at were made up of cells. Schwann had similar observations with animals. So when Schwann sent out letters to fellow scientists to help him research this Schleiden responded and they proceeded to make this observation.
The German Scientist Rudolph Virchow, was the first to discover that all cells had to come from pre-existing cells. In truth however it is said that he stole the research from a Jewish scientist Robert Remack.
