Concept Hair Learner of the yearDysgwr y Flwyddyn Wallt Cysyniadiol

• Level 1 & 2 styling competition
• Catwalk Grunge

Raw edge meets runway glam Catwalk Grunge turns attitude into artistry

• Hair must be predominantly styled down
• No more than 30% can be up
• You can use ornamentation and accessories

but cannot cover more than 30% of overall style

• You cannot use added hair or hairpieces

Sculpted elegance, where vintage glamour meets geometric precision

• Create an elegant updo
• Use any styling tools
• Must show before photos
• At least 80% of hair must be up
• You can use added hair - no more than 30% of the style
• Ornamentation to be used
• No under 16's

Big texture, bold attitude –Bringing 80s streetstyle to life with fearless flair

• Model must have hair type 3a to 4c
• No wigs to be worn
• Hair can be styled up or down or a combination of both
• you can use ornamentation no more than 30% of the overall style

Cutting

Levels 2 & 3 Cutting – Icon Inspired

• Where iconic influence meets razor-sharp artistry
• All cutting tools, styling tools and products are allowed
• Hair must be cut from wet, blow-dried and styled
• Hair must be cut from all sections of the head
• No wigs are allowed

• Transform hair with vibrant creativity and colour theory skill
• Any brand of colour can be used
• Demonstrate strong technical ability
• A thorough understanding of colour must be shown
• Demonstrate attention to detail

Barbering

Level 2 & 3 Barbering – Mod Cut

• Tailored cool with retro flair – celebrating the timeless style of the Mod Cut
• All cutting tools, styling tools and products are allowed
• Hair must be cut from wet, blow-dried and styled
• Hair must be cut from all sections of the head
• Hair fibres are allowed to be used only around the hairline and not to be used to fill in
• Models must not wear hats

• Application form by 28th November
• Photo Entry by 12th December
• Grand Final March 2026

Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru / Skills Competition Wales

• Test A: Long Hair Styling Commercial ( 1 Hour)
• Can be up/down/combination-ornamentation allowed must not cover more than 10%

• Test B: Long Hair Styling - Catwalk/Editorial (1.5 Hours)
• Can be up/down/combo

• Test C: Ladies Commercial, fashionable cut & colour (3 hours)
• Cut above the jawline with a fringe and use 2 colours

Test B: Long Hair Styling-Catwalk/Editorial

Test C: Cut & Colour

Register : 24/11/25 - 5/12/25 Parental/guardian consent deadline: 12th December 2025 (for under-18s) Competition heat: 2nd–13th February 2026
