Inner Core
Mantle
Earth's core is around 2,900 km below the surface and 3,485 km thick. The inner core has an average temperature of 5,200 degrees Celcius rivaling the temperature of the sun. Earth's inner core has a density of around 9.9-12.2 grams per cubic cm.
Earth's mantle starts around 40 kilometers beneath the surface and ends at approximately 2,700 kilometers below. The temperature around the border with the crust is around 1,000-3,700 degrees Celcius. The mantle has an average density of 5.5 grams per cubic centimeter.
Crust
Core
The earth's outer core is approximately 2,400 km thick and ends around 2,890 km below the surface. The outer core is so hot at 4,500-5,500 degrees Celcius that it became a liquid. The density of the outer core is 12.6-13 grams per cubic centimeter.
Our thin crust is approximately 40 kilometers thick and is made of solid minerals and rocks. Inside the earth's crust, temperatures can range from 500-100 degrees Celcius. The density of the crust is around 2.7-3 grams per cubic centimeter.
Fun Facts
1. The earth's core is cooling at 100 degrees Celcius every BILLION YEARS 2. 154 plutos can fit in the earth 3. The core of the earth is as almost as hot as the surface of the sun 4. There is so much pressure that the inner core stays solid
