Cross-contamination in food is raw meat coming in contact with ready-to-eat food. This can be prevented by separating the raw and ready-to-eat. The germs and juices on raw meat can make us sick. They can spread from touching directly or by cutting boards and knives, so keeping utensils clean is important.

Preventing Cross Contamination

This is an example of what not to do when using a cutting board.

When putting the food in a plate making sure they dont touch will also reduce cross contamination

Washing hands after handling food will prevent the germs from the food to cross contaminate

Storing food seperately is another way to keep it from cross contaminating

Using seperate cutting boards or cleaning the cutting board after every use.
