One of the biggest problems students have is remembering their college password.

When you start college you will need to log-on to a computer and change your password.You will need to think of a password that is: * 8-15 characters long * has a capital letter * has a number * does not contain personal information such as your name Before you log on, think of a password that you can use. For example: Student10

1. First, turn on the computer and press the Ctrl, Alt, Delete keys at the same time (see picture)
2. Next, add the student number on your ID card as your username
3. The password is Letmein123
4. It will ask you for the new password
5. Enter the password two times
6. There are two ways you can reset your password. See videos below.

How to change passwords using Microsoft 365

College wifi

• If you are in college and you need to use your phone, tablet or laptop, you can log into the college wifi.

• You can use the same password that you use to log into the college computer.

• On the wifi, choose LSEC BYOD Enter your student email address which is your number @student.lsec.ac.uk

• You may have to click Trust on an iPhone or change the certificate on an Android. Here is a video to show you how to do this:

• Canvas is an online learning tool that we use in class and at home.
• Teachers can add worksheets, quizzes, homework tasks, links onto Canvas.
• Students can also upload work onto Canvas for teachers to check and mark.
• You can log onto Canvas using the web address: lsec.instructure.com or bit.ly/esolplum
• Your username and password will be the same as you used for wifi
• It would very helpful if you could download the Canvas Student app on your phone

• Meet your classmates
• Learn about the course and the exams
• Log onto computers
• Complete a diagnostic assessment

This first week is called induction. Meeting your classmates is really important, and we will do 'Getting to know you' activities. Do not worry if the class seems easy in the first week, we just want the class to friendly and relaxed so that you can find out about people in your class.

Remember to bring to class: Pen, paper, phone or tablet, a file or folder to keep work in.
