Transcript
War adversely affects combatants and non-combatants alike, both physically and emotionally. Death, injury, violence, malnutrition, illness, and disability are some of the most threatening physical consequences of war. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety are some of the emotional effects. The terror and horror spread by the violence of war disrupts lives and severs relationships and families, leaving individuals and communities emotionally distressed.
WAR SIDE EFFECTS
War destroys communities and families and often disrupts the development of the social and economic fabric of nations. The effects of war include long-term physical and psychological harm to children and adults, as well as reduction in material and human capital.
HARMFUL EFFECTS OF WAR
War is the deadliest military conflict in history in terms of total dead, with some 75 million people casualties including military and civilians, or around 3% of the world's population at the time. Many civilians died because of deliberate genocide, massacres, mass-bombings, disease, and starvation.
