Talkback Boards

Preparation for Future Learning / Career Prep

Preparation for Future Learning / Career Prep:The program prepares youth for STEM and CT coursework in school, and/or introduces youth to STEM and CT careers.

Talkback Boards are designed to obtain quick feedback from youth participants. Talkback Boards are posters or boards with prompts (i.e., "Next time I want to…") with a few statements as responses.

How to analyze the Data?

You can analyze the data collected with the Talkback Boards using the attached Analysis Tool. Count the number of stickers/sticky notes that youth attached to each statement, and then plant that number in the dedicated box in the analysis sheet. The sheet will automatically display a graph reflecting the results of your program. We suggest observing the graph and thinking about the next steps you want to take to improve your program or keep things as is if they are working well. The Instructions include some reflection questions that you can use to think about the data.

    Talkback boards can be physical boards or digital formats such as Padlet and Jamboard. It is recommended to have only one prompt per board, to have youth reflect on just one statement. Youth read the prompt and place a sticker next to the statement with which they most agree.​For the virtual version, click the Jamboard button and select the prompts you want to use.For the in-person option, print your preferred prompt from the Prompts Google Slides and have stickers or markers for youth to use.
