-Independence process in El Salvador
El Salvador gains independence from Spain. Conflict ensues over territory's incorporation into Mexican empire under Creole general Agustin de Iturbide.

El Salvador becomes part of the United Provinces of Central America, which also includes Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

1932
The Massacre" was a peasant uprising that started on January 22, 1932 in the western departments of El Salvador. It was suppressed by the government, then led by President Maximiliano Hernández Martínez.
SIT-DOWN STRIKE
The authoritarian and eccentric General Maximiliano Hernandez Martinez became president of El Salvador after a military coup overthrew the freely elected government of Arturo Araujo in 1931.
1944
The Football War also known as 100 Hour War, was a brief war fought between El Salvador and Honduras in 1969. Existing tensions between the two countries coincided with rioting during a 1970 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The war began on 14 July 1969, when the Salvadoran military launched an attack against Honduras. The Organization of American States (OAS) negotiated a cease-fire on the night of 18 July, which took full effect on 20 July. Salvadoran troops were withdrawn in early August.

Kidnapping and kill of Ernesto Regalado Dueñas
On February 11, 1971, an armed group known as “El Grupo” intercepted Ernesto Regalado Dueñas while he was driving to his office. The perpetrators demanded that he get out of his car and get into another car at gunpoint. The Group, a murderer, has Regalado Dueñas, on October 19 of the same year, the body was abandoned in the Calle a San Antonio-Abad, the body was thrown on the side of the street, his eyes were bandaged with adhesive tape, he was bound hand and foot and had two fatal bullets to the head.
