Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence

Were de only ones who have escaped from Alcatraz prison.

Frank arrives at the jail with more security than Alcatraz after having escaped from other prisons. Finally he meets the brothers John and Clarence.Morris befriends other inmates, including "The English", a prisoner sentenced to two life sentences for killing two white men in self-defense. Warden, the prison director, explains to Morris that when the prison rules are not met, they send you to Alcatraz, a prison different from the others, since here the prisoners are in individual cells and where no one ever succeeded escape.

By then Morris got a job in the carpentry and also among the new prisoners are John and Clarence Anglin who were friends of Morris.They plus Charlie Butts who would join soon after and then they prepare the escape. They start thinking about fleeing at night, also their objective was to get materials that help them escape such as raincoats and glue to make a raft to go to a nearby island. Charlie gets tubes of paint that would serve them after making a fake head to paint it and also gets hair. After placing the doll, Morris goes out to investigate the air ducts for a future exit.

Anglin and Morris leave, but Butts gets nervous and when he finally decides to run away it is too late and the others are already too far, so he must return to his cell, while the other three fugitives run across the roofs, managing to escape, heading to the beach and towards the sea.

The supervisor commands Butts and Morris to be moved to other cells tuesday morning, the exact day they chose to escape. Lobo leaves the isolation cells, which will put the intention of escaping at risk, so they decide to advance the escape to make it that night.

When they discover that Morris is not in his cell in the morning, they turn on all the alarms, immediately beginning the search on the island, although all they find is a bag with photos of one of the brothers, doubting if they tried to leave false leads The Anglins and Morrises were searched without success, and the prison was closed a year later.
