VERBS COLLOCATIONS

start

What is a collocation?

  • have a relationship
  • do someone a favour
  • make an effort
  • take notes
  • break the rules
  • catch a cold
  • pay cash
  • save money
  • keep a secret
  • come on time
  • go on foot
  • get permission

A collocation is two or more words that often go together. These combinations just sound "right" to native English speakers, who use them all the time. On the other hand, other combinations may be unnatural and just sound "wrong".

Common Collocations

Complete with the correct collocation: have, do, make, take, break, catch, pay, save, keep, go, get.
