Water Clock

It is an instrument showing the time by the shadow of a pointer cast by the sun on to a plate marked with the hours of the day.

It measure's the passage of time. It comprises two glass bulbs connected vertically by a narrow neck that allows a regulated flow of a substance (historically sand) from the upper bulb to the lower one.

A water clock or clepsydra is any timepiece by which time is measured by the regulated flow of liquid into or out from a vessel, and where the amount is then measured.

A candle clock is a thin candle with consistently spaced marking that when burned, indicate the passage of periods of time.

A clock which uses a Pendulum,a swinging weight, as its timekeeping element. The advantage of a pendulum for timekeeping is that it is a harmonic oscillator: It swings back and forth in a precise time interval dependent on its length
