Introduction

Breif Assessment of Student Engagement

The intention and development of the BASE are to solve a particular organizational problem of practice. The BASE is a way to streamline the data needed to capture student disengagement from secondary online coursework and hopefully trigger appropriate supports.

Introduction

Brief Assessment of Student Engagement

Before and during the development of the BASE, teachers, administrators and support staff were consulted to determine the needs of all the potetial users of this tool. The goals to consider were: 1. Early detection of students needs before they fall behind too much 2. Commonality in students who have similar needs for future planning
