WHAT ARE THEY?
They are techniques or modifications to our behaviour that are used to compensate for a deficit, weakness, injury in a specific skill.
They may be used for individuals who have different problems, such as:
SHORT ATTENTION SPAN
MEMORY PROBLEM
PERSONALITY CHANGES
PROBLEMS WITH LANGUAGE AND COMUNICATION
Activities that could be applied in the classroom
Matching definitions
Miming Games

External help
Actions that we modificate in order to help us compensate difficulties
Compensatory strategies help us cope with what we think of as a personal weakness. If cover up our deficits, we reduce the negative consequences associated with those deficits.
