Past Continuous
Topic:
Objetive:
Practice and use the Past Continuous in specific situations. By the end of the activity, the 8th grade students will be able to identify and use the form of past continuous tense (was/were + ing)
Activity
After teaching the Past Continuous to the class the students will review the structure while listening to a song. The class will listen a song named: "I Was Walkin' by Ringo Starr" while they are filling the blanks of the lyrics. They also will find the lyrics in Spanish so they can compare the translation and discuss the new vocabulary. After this, the students will find a partner and they will describe to each other an important day of their lives and answer questions like: "what were you doing that day?" and "why is so important?". Next, with the same partner the students will write a short story answering "what do you think your partner did the day before?" using some images given by teacher.
