Consonants

1.1

Occlusive

Consonant sounds produced by blocking airflow in the vocal track

c + a, o, u qu + i, e k

g + a, o, u gu + i, e

1.2

Consonant sounds produced by bringing the mouth into position to block the passage of the airstream, but without making a complete closure. There's a friction produced by that uncomplete closure.

Fricatives

z + a, o, u c + i, e

*x = /ks/examen = /eksamen/

g + i, e j + a, o, u

1.3

Affricate

Consonant sounds produced by an initial closure and inmediately blending into a fricative (partial block).

1.4

Nasal

Consonant sounds produced by letting the airstream pass through the nose.

1.5

Liquids

Consonant sounds produced when the tongue produces a partial closure in the mouth, resulting in a resonant, vowel-like consonant.
