6NATURAL CONTRACEPTIVES METHODS

NATURAL CONTRACEPTIVES METHODS They are those methods that help women to know which are the days of the month when a pregnancy is most likely to occur. A woman can learn to notice when she is ovulating by observing and paying attention to her body and noting her physical changes. She can then use this information to prevent or promote pregnancy. The most effective way to discover your fertile time is by practicing all natural family planning techniques.

AMENORRHEA BREASTEFEEDING METHOD (MELA) This method is used in specific conditions: - when a woman is exclusively breastfeeding (this means without adding formula or food to the baby's diet, "The baby is only fed with breast milk"), ideally that no more than 4 hours pass between feedings.- it is not used beyond the baby's 6 months. the woman should not have menstrual cycles (without menstruation) from delivery. This method in these conditions offers high efficacy for birth control.

PERIODIC ABSTINENCE METHOD The most effective way to avoid pregnancy is not to have sex, this is called sexual abstinence. Couples who have sex must use birth control properly and every time they have sex if they want to avoid pregnancy. The World Health Organization defines periodic abstinence as the natural method by which sexual intercourse is voluntarily avoided, during the fertile phase of the menstrual cycle, in order to avoid an unintended pregnancy.

CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD O BILLINGS The cervical mucus method is based on observing the changes that occur in the cervical mucus during the menstrual cycle. After menstruation begins a dry period that lasts 2 to 3 days. Then a sticky, whitish cervical mucus appears that becomes increasingly elastic and transparent. The last day of mucus with these characteristics is called the mucus peak day. From the 4th day after the peak day, the infertile period begins. There are training programs in this method.

INTERCOURSE INTERRUPTED It consists of withdrawing the penis from the vagina before ejaculation. It is possible that this method of birth control is widely used since it is free, it is available and it is always an option to prevent contact between the egg and the sperm, thus reducing the possibility of an unwanted pregnancy.

BASAL TEMPERATURE METHOD This method is based on predicting ovulation through changes in body temperature. The temperature should be taken every morning, immediately upon waking up and before starting any type of activity. The temperature can be taken under the tongue. Use graph paper and write down all the data from day to day. Immediately before ovulation, the temperature typically drops briefly.

RHYTHM METHOD The presumption of fertility is given because ovulation occurs between the 14th and 16th day of the menstrual cycle. The rhythm method is also based on the fact that the life of the oocyte is 24-48 hours and that of the sperm up to 92 hours, so if you do not have sexual intercourse 5 days before and 2 after ovulation there will be no chances of pregnancy. The rhythm loses effectiveness when the woman has irregular menstrual cycles.
