Public education is provided by government agencies and private education is provided by private entities.

The increase in private education is justified more by the profits generated by a school institution than by offering quality education to users.

“Private education has taken advantage of the vacuum of infrastructure and basic services of the Ecuadorian public system" to offer an education in educational institutions with higher costs and without guarantee of a quality education.

The National Government repowering and equipping the Public Educational Units with the aim of achieving "quality and educational warmth of the country's children and adolescents".
