Introduction

SESSION 2

• Act. 1: Warm up. Board Game that focuses on gerund and infinitive.

RULES: 1: Pair Up 2: Rock-Paper-Scissors 3: If you win by Paper->move 3 spaces Scissors->2 spaces Rock-> 1 space 4: If you cannot answer the question correctly, your opponent can choose either moving 1 space forward or having you move 1 space back.

Speaking 'How Risky?'

Warm up (15')

Reading and infering the meaning of different traffic signs.

Read, summarize and answer the questions about the text.

READIng test (35')

• Act. 1: Speaking ‘How risky?’ You have to consider the level of risk involved in day-to-day activities written in your cards, discuss the scenarios and assess the level of risk. After discussion, divide the statements into three piles. Then do a whole-group discussion.

  • “Low risk – I would do this.”
  • “Could be risky – Not a good idea.”
  • “Very risky – Never do it. “

SESSION 4

• Act. 2: Reading Road Signs. Reading the meaning and explanation of different Road sings in U.K. After it, in pairs, they have to ask each other the meaning of different signs by showing just the sign and hiding the meaning

• Act. 3: Reading test. Read a text about Josh’s accident and do the exercises based on it and the comments from the characters involved.

Listening and Vocabulary

Speaking: answer different questions about sports and keeping fit.

Students will exchange opinions about the book they are reading. And select at least two questions from the ones given by the teacher.

Reading Plan Students will be checked their levels at the beginning of the course in order to assess a reading proficiency. They will be assessed basic or advanced level

• Act. 3: BEFORE READING ACTIVITY They select a 'While Reading' question from the different examples they are given and take a post-it to write the question down and answer it at the back. Then they glue it on their cardboard.

  • Basic level: Emma retold by Margaret Tarner.
  • Intermediate: The Jumping frog by Mark Twin.
  • Advanced level: Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Speaking and Writing

Warm up (10')

Hangman - dice of fortune.

Discuss the different quotes about road safety.

They will use the time left in this session to prepare the project.

• Act. 2: Speaking: Read the quotes from young people about their attitudes to road safety. In small groups, discuss their views. Are they right? Do you agree or disagree? Why?

SESSION 7

• Act. 1: Warm up

Dice of fortune game - Hangman.A word or expression from the unit is written on the blackboard with blanks spaces that students have to guess, as in hangman .They choose a letter and role the dice. There is a value assigned for each number of the dice that students should know:

  • 1 – 10 points
  • 2 – 20 points
  • 3 – 30 points
  • 4 – Bankrupt
  • 5 – 100 points
  • 6 – Play again

SESSION 8:

Project exposition

Create a road safety campaign with an animated presentation or cartoon video, it can be focused on some of the following messages: - Stop, Look and Listen. 􏰀- Don't Drink and drive. 􏰀- Be bright. 􏰀- Always wear a seat belt. - Keep a long distance relationship.
