Maxims of Conversation
Manner: s related to how something is being said in the conversation. It is one of the four conversational maxims that are part of the Cooperative Principle.
Quality: requires the speaker not to say what is believed to be false and for which the speaker lacks adequate evidence.
Relation: where one tries to be relevant, and says things that are pertinent to the discussion. Our response has to be relevant to the topic of discussion.
Quantity: The Maxim of Quantity relates to the amount of information provided in conversations.
