What is a Process Paragraph?
In a process paragraph, you divide a process into seperate steps.You list or explain the steps in chronological order - the order of events as they happen over time.The process paragraph ends with a specific result - something that happens at the ends of the process.
A process paragraph:
- explains a sequence or process
- presents facts and details in chronological order
- uses time words or phrases
- ends with a specified result

Using Sequence Words and Chronological Order
To show time order in a process, writers use time phrases, time clauses, and time words such as first, second, then, next, the next step, the last thing..., in addition, before and after. These items are also called sequence words or transition words because they mark the transition from one step to the next.
