What genre is Hamlet?

The story is about how the ghost of the King of Denmark tells his son ( Hamlet ) to avenge him by killing his uncle which is now the new King. Hamlet goes through a mix of emotions but all we know is that REVENGE is to come. There is a battle at the end which concludes in the death of the King ( his uncle), the Queen and Hamlet himself.

Shakespeare wrote plays in various genres. This included comedy, tragedy, romance history etc... Hamlet is a tragedy.

Hamlet is set in Denmark. This is where all the murder, mystery and emotion was set. The place in which Hamlet would take rev- enge would be in no other place than Denmark. Where his dad once ruled as King.
