Verbos Auxiliares Modales o Referentes
Hay varias formas de indicar modalidad al expresarse en inglés. Los verbos modales, como el nombre lo indica, son verbos auxiliares que se usan para hacerlo. Los principales verbos modales en inglés son, en orden alfabético: can, could, may, might, must, shall, should, will, y would.
Los verbos modales no tienen conjugación (no encontrarás formas con terminaciones -ed o -ing) ni infinitivo y como todos los verbos auxiliares acompañan a otro verbo pero con la particularidad de que en su caso nunca se usan solos y solamente sirven para expresar una actitud respecto a lo que se quiere comunicar, como habilidad, posibilidad, necesidad u obligatoriedad, entre otras.
