Introduction
Where did energy come from? How did we learn how to use it?
The very first energy source was the sun, providing heat and light. Later a lightning strike sparked a fire. Fire was then used for many uses from cooking to an additional source of heat and light.
More than 8,000 years ago, humans discovered that sails could be used to harness wind energy for transportation. Later, wind energy was utilized yet again, this time to turn things as the first “wind farm” in the form of windmills turning water wheels for grinding grain.
Before 1850, wood fueled fires were the main source for heating, cooking and producing steam utilized in railroad engines. Other sources in use at that time were water, wind, coal and to a small degree manufactured natural gas.
What is renewable energy?
Renewable energy is made from resources that nature will replace, like wind, water and sunshine.
Renewable energy is also called "clean energy" or "green power" because it doesn't pollute the air or the water.

Windmills convert wind energy directly into mechanical energy for such tasks as milling grain--the source of the term--or pumping water, which is usually the purpose of windmills you see on farms.

Got a green thumb? Recycle a plastic bottle and you will be able to see your plant to grow in your own custom greenhouse! Using:
- 1 empty 2-liter soda bottle/500mL water bottle, washed and dried
- Craft knife or sharp scissors
- Potting soil
Seeds (try herbs, flowers, or experiment with the seeds from a piece of fruit)
- Plate to hold the greenhouse and keep your tabletop dry

You will need approximately 1400 empty 2-litre (40-oz) plastic bottles
THIS IS A GREAT GROUP PROJECT!
Follow this step-by-step guide for building a plastic-bottle greenhouse.
Making this type of greenhouse is relatively cheap and easy! It does make a great project for a large group or community or school organisation, but you can do this on your own, too. There is no reason why everyone should not have a wonderful PET-plastic construction in their yard.
Advantages of a Plastic-Bottle Greenhouse
• It's cheap to construct.
• It holds heat and keeps seedlings warm.
• It is self-watering
• It saves yet more plastic waste from the landfill.
Instructions
• It is cheap and easy to repair.
• It is sturdy and can withstand strong winds.

THE PANDEMIC IS
The global electricity access rate improved from 83% in 2010 to 90% in 2019 with an average annual electrification of 0.876 percentage points. The global access deficit decreased from 1.22 billion in 2010 to 759 million in 2019. Despite the great efforts, the world may still have as many as 660 million people without access in 2030.
