Calculating the Standard deviation
The Standard Deviation, also known as "SD" or as "s", is the average amount of variability in a set of scores or the average distance of each score from the mean (Salkind & Frey, 2019). Here is the formula to calculate Standard Deviation: Reference: Salkind, N. J. & Frey, B. B. (2019). Statistics for people who (think they) hate statistics (7th Ed.) SAGE Publications. Salkind, N. List your data and calcualte the mean
Get the mean
Find the difference
square the difference
Divide by n-1
take the square root
ALL done!!!
Take each score and subtract the mean to find the difference for each
Square the differnce of each and then add them up
Take the sum of the squared differences and divide them by n-1
Take the square root of this number
