NEW

1. From the Latin novus, it is something that is perceived or experienced for the first time.

Before starting, we are going to explain how to use this asynchronous material.

When you see an icon like this one flashing, it means you need to click on it to find something interesting.

When you see numbers, they are the instructions you are encouraged to follow in numerical order.

When you see these icons, put your headphones on and enjoy some music or a podcast.

Mouse over the images and they’ll whisper words to you.

Call your travel companion and share your feelings, impressions and experiences with them.

And, as Bowie said, “tomorrow belongs to those who can hear it coming.” Click on the image and enjoy the journey!

Times are changing

TO CHANGE

1. From the Latin cambiare, it means to part with one thing and receive or take another in its place.

Every one of us experiences changes throughout our lives, both personally and professionally. We should take these changes, whether they appear to be good or bad, as a chance to grow and learn. Through his songs and throughout his life, Bowie taught us that we are in constant movement, that we are changing beings and that everything transforms, mutates and reinvents itself. Being able to understand that everything is ephemeral, which means recognising that something that is one way today can be another way tomorrow, makes us understand life as something dynamic. It may rain today but be sunny tomorrow. What does change mean to you?

TO TRY

1. From the Latin probare, to try, experiment or test something.

Throughout history, many artists have tried to convey times of change, depict the passing of time or make us part of better or worse periods through songs, paintings, texts or films. We’d like you to give it a go. For artists, it’s a way of expressing something that is difficult to rationalise. Let’s try it out. Click on the image.

TO UNDERSTAND

From the Latin comprehender, find one’s own or someone else’s actions justified or natural.

Look at and observe your work. What does it convey? Can you identify any emotions? Now, looking back, what did you learn from the change? Can you remember the stages you went through? If you wouldn’t mind sharing, we’d love you to send us the conclusions you reached from your work. It doesn't have to be well-defined or in order. Just write how the process was. Did you notice anything new? Have you managed to understand something that you were stuck on? Do you see your attitude to change through different eyes? Give yourself time; explore the change and everything it taught you. In the end, it is one of the experiences that brought you to where you are :)

TO CHOOSE

From the Latin eligere, to choose or prefer someone or something for a given purpose.
