- Relearn skills and protect to develop new problems.
- Most functional recovery is the restoration of walk.
- Only half of stroke patients regain the ability to walk

The Lokomat system has a small number of participants involvedBeneficial Effects:Assisted training were walking enduranceImprovement of a walking test made to the patience gains in gait velocityPositive influence in respiratory and cardiovascular responseBetter voluntary control was shown in several patients

Can record the data like the position and the force that can be used to assess the clinical stage of the patient while the therapy is taking its course [1,2]. The following clinical measures can be display thanks to the Lokomat:

BACK
Mechanical Stiffness, which are alterations in muscle activation with increased tone and reflexes, which is a side effect of neurological disorders. This can be performed while the patient is completing the training without the necessity of changing the setup, and it uses a scale in between 0 to 4 [3,4].

Voluntary force can be measure and represents the limiting factor for walking, for its measure it takes into consideration the force generated against the Lokomat, which is position-controlled to predefined static posture, in addition to this, the joint moments can be measure by the built-in force transducers with the maximum moments for flexion and extension (this are used as outcome variables for the therapist) [3,4].

BACK
Range of motion, range of motion that the patient acquires during the process of completing the therapy. Similar to the traditional therapist but instead the legs of the patient are attaches to the Lokomat which join the axes in alignment with the patient, then it starts to record joint angles in comparison to the patient’s joint angles, by that the therapist can obtain the passive range of motion with the maximum and minimum joint angles measured [3,4].

Use the Lokomat training integrated into the normal therapy program to create the fastest recovery. Another reason why the patients prefer the Lokomat is that they can walk through a virtual environment using a virtual reality system in addition to it [4,5].
BACK
Many hospitals do not have the device to apply this therapy, so patients do not have the option to decide to carry out this type of training. In Mexico the device is only found in rehabilitation centers such as the Telethon, however, they have few units compared to the number of children who require rehabilitation [4,5].
