4. "Yeah. You see, this little liquor store we got in mind cost seventy-five thousand and we figured the initial investment on the place be 'bout thirty thousand, see. That be ten thousand each." 33 This shows how facing the problem of their lack of money and inability to support his family, he decides to go and try to earn money to help his family, and how he confronts this problem. This also gives us an insight into his obsession with money, and how he puts it over everything else, and eventually, over his dignity.

3. Lorraine Hansberry wants us to know that everyone has their own dreams that they want to achieve, and you should try to achieve progress with those dreams. Also though, she says that you should never sacrifice your dignity for a dream like money.
