Introduction
The Tolmo de Minateda is one of the Archaeological Parks created by the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board, in this case, located in the province of Albacete. A strong flood in the fall of 1987 uncovered part of a Roman monumental inscription. Its documentation and study was the beginning of a joint project of the University of Alicante and the Museum of Albacete, with the required funding and authorization from the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board.

Introduction: The site
The Tolmo de Minateda is an archaeological site whose life is documented from the Neolithic era to the end of the 10th century AD. About five thousand years, although the occupation has not always been as intense. Its strategic location, which dominated one of the roads that connected with the plateau from the Mediterranean coast, and next to another that linked the coastline with the interior of Andalusia, had a lot to do with the development of the city.

Continue the visit by navigating through the Episcopal Palace. This building appears to have representation, administration and residence functions. Its monumental character and its close connection with the Basilica, makes researchers believe that it is the Episcopal Palace of a new headquarters created at the end of the 16th century: the Eiotana or Elotana.
