intensive agriculture
Intensive agriculture is an agricultural production system characterized by the high use of inputs and seeking to maximize production in relation to the factors of production, be it labor, soil or land. other means of production (equipment, various inputs).
The consequences of intensive agriculture are a high environmental cost, which means intensive production means pollution of water and soil. Nitrogen fertilizers thus contribute to 22% of ammonia emissions, animal waste and their spreading contribute to 75%. Agriculture also produces 20% of greenhouse gas emissions.
more must be produced to feed more mouths, ensuring a balanced diet for all and more respect for the environment. This requires agriculture that consumes less energy, less water, and preserves water and soil quality.
There are many solutions to fight against intensive agriculture such as limiting food waste, using biofuel or even using organic farming.
