Curriculum Mapping
- Content Standards and Skills to be introduced for a specific subject in the long term.
- Identify standards for each unit of study.
- It defines what to be taught in order, strategy, materials and assessment. (Archambault & Masunaga, 2015)
Pacing Guide
- Help the teachers with sequence and the timeline of what to be taught over the course of the school year.
- Each core subject is sequenced and provides the time allocation of each unit of study.
- Many teachers use the pacing guide as curriculum guidance and plan their curriculum for the year.
(David, 2008)
Lesson Plans
• A lesson plan is the teachers' responsibility to show daily how the students are going to learn.
• The lesson objective is listed for each subject as goals for what students are able to do at the end of the lesson.
• Lesson materials are listed and prepared for the students for each lesson to be successful.
• Activities are provided in the daily lesson plans for the students.
• Lesson procedures are explained on how the lesson will progress in the classroom.

(Hale, 2018)
Curriculum Map focuses on content standards and what students are learning, and the learning outcome. Pacing guides help teachers stay on track of what they are t eaching to ensure the content standards are covered in a sequenced timeline. At times teachers are pressured to cover all the materials without considering students' achievements. (David, 2008).
The teacher uses the curriculum Map and the pacing guide to develop lesson plans. Lesson plans are daily plans of how the students are going to learn. Teachers might use different strategies to teach, but students are learning the same content standards. How are the students going to learn? What materials to use and what teaching strategy to use for daily lessons?
