5 fact-checking tips
False
Check the Author
Reverse Image Search
Before reading the article you should check the author. The name is usually placed at the top or very bottom of the article.
Dont trust images because most of the time its out of context and not original; Photoshopped.
Ask yourself, Is the author real; Is the author an expert on the topic; Is the author credible.
Use a Fact Checking Website
We can see by doing a reverse image search, "Make America White Again" was actually photshopped.
These websites hire professionall fact-checkers to do the job for you.
Identify Bias
Bias articles may not be giving you the whole story
Therefore always make sure to read the text well enough to notice, if the article is leaning more into one point of view then the other.
Some examples of fact-check websites are Snopes, ProPublica, Truth or Fiction etc.
Read Laterally
Do not settle for one source, find one or two more sources to make sure the same information is put upon other articles.
For this source I didnt need to do much reading. It told me it was fake off the bat. For some other source it may not be this easy so always remember to read carefully.
