Introduction

Welcome to my learning Diary!This work was proposed by teacher Susana Branco within the scope of English discipline, and aims to reflect on our learning, strengths, weaknesses and how we can improve our performance.

What I learned

Week 1

05/04 - 09/04

Week 1

This week we talked about conditional sentences and did a systematization.

Week 2

12/04 -16/04

Week 2

In week 2 we did some tasks about conditional sentences.We also read and refleted abou the text "Drop out of school, drops out of life"

Week 3

19/04 -23/04

Week 3

During this week we do a brainstorming about jobs and employment and we studied the vocabulary related to the unit. Then our teacher showed us some examples of learning diarys and how to write a covering letter.

16/04 - 30/04

Week 4

This week we wrote a text using If-clauses and did some vocabulary work.We also did a listening comprehension about unusual jobs.

In week 5 we do a test paper ( listening, writing and reading)

During this week we did an speaking activity: "what would you do if...?"

In week 7 we introduced unit 4 about multiculturalism.Also we payed attention to the new vocabulary related to unit and did a group work about " Pros and cons of a generation raised on technology".

Week 8

In week 8 we did a reading comprehension of the text "the land of internations", we talked also about connectors, and did some tasks.This week we also did a group work about multiculturalism.

31/05 - 04/06

Week 9

In week 9 we presented the group work about multiculturalism, we did a listening comprehension and some vocabulary work.We also had the poem "Celebrat8" by Levi Tafari.

About the areas studied in english I think reading comprehension is my strenght.

I think my organisation was very important for the entire school year to unfould, as I always had a lot of research work to do and without an organization method it would be impossible to complete them all on time.

I think one of my strengths is my hard work, as I struggled to achieve the results obtained and also struggled to carry out other types of research work.

Weaknesses

Participation

My participation is without a doubt my biggest weakness. I don't usualy participate in the classes, not only english but all of them.

Talking in public

Speak in public is not easy for me, maybe because when we have to do a presentation we are the focus of attention for the whole room.

Talking in public

• To improve public speaking it is also necessary to practice more, and even if we have that affliction of being the focus of attention in the whole room, we have to maintain our posture and nor let nervousness influence our presentation, for more dificult it may seem.

• To improve my writing I need to practice more, for example do texts own initiative.

• The only way to improve my participation is to participate in the classes, despite having to step out of my confort zone.

What I improved

During this school year I have improved my computer skills, I am now able to do a lot of more things and use a lot of molre tools than before.I also improved the working methods a little and the organization methods evolved.

This work acted as a reflection tool on what were our strengths, weaknesses, on our evolution and on the work that we carried out over the third term.
