Elizabeth Blackwell's timeline
Elizabeth Blackwell was born February 3, 1821, on England in a loving family
1832
Elizabeth and her family moved to the united states for her father to start a new business.
1845
She moved to north and South Carolina where she lived with 2 doctors and studied their medical texts.
1847
After applying to several medical colleges the Geneva Medical college in New York accepted her
1849
Elizabeth graduated and became the first woman doctor in America. That same year she trained medicine at a hospital in Paris
1851
She returned to the U.S, where she set up an office
1857
Elizabeth established a small hospital for woman and children in New York
1868
Her sister and her opened the women’s medical college of the New York infirmary
1869
Elizabeth returned to England and practiced medicine until her retirement
1877
Elizabeth retired
1910
Elizabeth died
