it's historical roots
- The first known examples of a team game involving a ball, which was made out of a rock, occurred in old Mesoamerican cultures from over 3,000 years ago.
- In some ritual occasions, the ball would symbolize the sun and the captain of the losing team would be sacrificed to the gods.
- The first known ball game which also involved kicking took place In China in the 3rd and 2nd century BC under the name cuju, played with a round stitched leather ball.
- Even older than cuju was Marn Grook, played by Aboriginal Australians. The rules are mostly unknown.
modern football roots
- Soccer was considered a low status sport.
- It is said that the game which is most similar to modern day football, was developed in England in the 12 th century.
- Played on roads and in the countryside.
- More rough and violent deaths, damage
- forbidden in the 17th cent.
- In the 19th century it was establlished also in the public schools.
- There had also been many variations concerning the size of the ball, the number of players and the length of a match.
- There were two predominant public schools in which soccer was taught: Rugby and Eton.
- 1848: meeting at Cambridge where proper rules for the game were created.
- 1863: the Football Association created. (1st association)

- 1869: the WFA formed, 1st Women Footbal Association.
- 1969: The Women's Football Association (WFA) was formed with 44 member clubs.
- 1895: The first women's football match. North beat South 7-1.
- 2015: England won bronze at the FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada and inspired an army of Young Lionesses to take up the game.
- According to the most recent FIFA Women’s World Rankings, the USA is in first place, England is in 6th place and Italy is in 15th place.
after more than 1 year...
- Due to Covid-19 all the Italian stadiums had to close their doors to the spectators for more than 1 year.
- Wednesday 19th May 2021 for the first time after many months, for the final of COPPA ITALIA between Atalanta and Juventus people had the opportunity to go and see the football match at MAPEI stadium.
- I was one of them.
- Returning there was a fantastic emotion as always, maybe even better.

- Sport can be a multi-faceted force for change and have far-reaching and multiple influences. It can help peoples’ development, raise aspirations, and be a source of hope.
- Many important and famous football players had a poor past, this isn't only a coincidence.
- In some poor countries football is the only game that could be played by everyone everywhere, for this reason then there are many champions.
- Football is one of the cheapest sport in the world.
