Who is BLACKPINK?

Introduction

Blackpink is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment. The band consists of 4 members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. They debuted on August 8th, 2016 with their single album Square One, which featured "Whistle" and "Boombayah".

full name: Kim Ji soo

BIRTHDAY: January 3th, 1995 (26 years) BIRTHPLACE: Gunpo, a city in the province of Gyeonggi

In 2011, Jisoo joined YG Entertainment through an audition as a trainee

Jisoo is also an actress and she can play the traditional Korean drums

full name: Kim Jennie

BIRTHDAY: January 16th, 1996 (25 years) BIRTHPLACE: Anyang, a city in Gyeonggi Province. But she moved to Auckland, New Zealand and lived there for 5 years

Jennie got back to Korea, did an audition and became a trainee in 2010

She also can play a lot of instruments like: acoustic and electric guitar, piano and the flute.

Rosé placed first in YG audition in Australia in 2012, at the time she was 16

She didn't know how to dance until she joined YG Entertainment

Lisa is the first non-Korean artist in the YG Company

She can speak 4 languages: Thai, Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese

The beginning:

• Trainees had to train 14h a day, besides vocal and languages lessons with different teachers;

• After a monthly review, by their boss and all the producers, they were graded in category A, B or C;
• Jennie trained for 6 years, Jisoo and Lisa for 5, and Rosé for 4;
