What is UNICEF?

The United Nations Children's Fund: it's an international organization, it was created in 1946, with the aim of providing assistance to children who had suffered from the outbreak of World War 2, and it was called the United Nations International Children's Emergency Organization, her name has changed to the current name in 1953.

What does UNICEF do?

UNICEF promotes the rights and well-being of every child, with a special effort to reach the most vulnerable and marginalized children. UNICEF supports children's health and nutrition, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS ...

Which objectives does UNICEF have?

One of the must important objectives is to care about a children-frienly world

  • To improve basic education and sexual equality
  • To protect children from violence and abuse
  • To provide nutrition and safe drinking water to children
  • To defend the rights of children
  • To reduce infant mortality

Conclusion

It has been more than 70 years since UNICEF was created, it has done a lot of things for humanity during this period, it has created equality between populations. So it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965 and another prizes ... Today this charity still deserves the Nobel Prize of 2021 because it has continued to give efforts to save humanity !!

My opinion

For me, they still need our help and support in order to continue their work even thought they have already achieved a lot.

Thanks!
