The time zones in the contiguous US are often referred to by their generic name, without making a difference between standard time and Daylight Saving Time designations.

Eastern Time (ET) refers to Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), depending on which is currently in use. In practice, this means that the local time in these time zones changes when DST begins and ends.

This mode can be used for Express Shipping and Overnight Shipping since it can cover long distances in a short time. However, airlines have several dimensions and product restrictions to take into consideration.

Subject to flight delays and/or cancellations.

Express Shipping and Overnight Shipping service.

Airport restrictions.

Fast delivery, usually between 24 and 48 hours.

Air Freight rates are usually way more expensive due to the costs per cubic feet regulated for an aircraft.

Reduced lead time on the supplier.

Airlines have several dimensions and product restrictions: each pallet cannot weigh more than 2,200 LBS, cannot measure more than 119 inches length, and 70 inches high.

Improved service levels.

Sea transportation is used by businesses for the delivery of goods from distant suppliers. Most sea transportation is conducted in containers that vary in size. Ocean shipping is the most popular way of moving large volumes of goods overseas.

The time zone is important to know the exact route of the trucks because we need to anticipate any restrictions on the roads, depending on the state, also due to unforseen situation it could not fully complete the route. It's important in order to have a good shipment schedule and know the delivery times according to the different variables that can be presented.
