BEEF

Today's lean beef supplies 14 essential nutrients. Beef is an excellent source of protein, niacin, vitamin B12, selenium and zinc. It is also high in iron, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and phosphorus. Beef is also a source of magnesium, potassium and vitamin D. When it comes to fat, lean beef compares favourably to chicken and fish.About half of the total fat in beef is in the form of monounsaturated fatty acids. And about 30% of the saturated fatty acids in beef are in the form of stearic acid which does not raise LDL blood cholesterol.

Terrific Tacos Recipe

  • 250g lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 5ml chili powder
  • 5ml hot pepper sauce
  • 25ml tomato paste
  • 1 pkg Taco shells.
  1. Assemble all ingredients and equipments.
  2. In the frying pan, brown the meat and garlic cloves over medium heat. Drain off all the excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes
  4. Stir in tomato, chili powder, hot pepper sauce and tomato paste. Mix well. Reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Arrange taco shells on cookie sheet. Warm in 160C oven for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove tacos from oven. Fill each with taco m
