Light Pollution:

This type of pollution encompasses multiple problems related to the misuse of artificial light, as the light is projected into the night sky causing an increase in its brightness due to the properties of reflection and refraction of light as it passes through the particles of the atmosphere.

How we can avoid light pollution?- Use designs with screens that prevent upward light scattering and install them in unobstructed spaces. - Progressively replace mercury lamps with sodium lamps, which pollute less and have the same power.

Visual contamination:

Pollution refers to the presence of toxic substances in the environment or other substances outside of physical and chemical cycles. We call visual pollution the existence of visual elements in the landscape that destroy its beauty.

Solutions: - Reduction and control of the quantity of advertisements or of another nature that are allowed in a specific area, urban or rural. - Frequent removal of out-of-date signs, posters, and other advertisements, especially when they are large and brightly colored. - Planning of protected areas within cities, such as parks and other environments that allow visual and auditory rest.

Noise Pollution:

When the environment is filled with unnecessary or unpleasant sounds that are harmful to animals and plants, it is called noise pollution. Transport vehicles, machinery, industries, loud music, people yelling, etc., are some of the most common sources of noise pollution.

Solutions: -Unless absolutely necessary, avoid using motor vehicles and use, for example, a bicycle to commute to work. - Control our tone of voice when having a conversation. - Use a moderate volume in electronic devices, such as television or stereos.

Air Pollution:

Air pollution is a mixture of solid particles and gases in the air. Car emissions, chemicals from factories, dust, pollen, and mold spores may be suspended as particles. Ozone, is a major part of air pollution in cities. When ozone forms air pollution, it's also called smog.

Solutions: - Don’t burn leaves, trash, and other smoky materials. - Instead of driving alone consider sharing a ride to work or use public transportation. - Delay the number of trips you take in your car or motorcycle. Walk whenever possible or ride a bike.

Plastic Pollution:

It is estimated that 8 million tons of plastic are dumped into the oceans each year. In 2025 our oceans will have 1 ton of plastic for every 3 of fish and in 2050 there will be more plastic than fish. The demand for plastic raw material is enormous, the global production of plastics has increased from 2 million tons in 1950 to approximately 400 million tons in 2018.

Solutions: - Do the shopping with reusable bags. Do not ask for plastic bags at the supermarket, take your bags from home and use them several times. - Eliminate the abandonment of containers and guarantee their correct recycling by implementing container return systems. - Promote measures based on the circular economy, which are committed to the reuse of raw materials and new materials with less environmental impact .

Thermal Pollution:

It is the erosion of air and water quality, this happens because large amounts of hot or cold water are poured into lakes and rivers. This produces sudden changes in temperature, it is clear that this affects living beings and the environment since it kills them end masse by a sudden change and there is no way for them to adapt in a short time.

Solutions: - Transform excess heat into electricity. - Use less oil and nuclear energy. - Increase wind, hydroelectric and solar energy. - Recycling of water in cooling processes. - Use more efficient technology in energy consumption.

Land Pollution:

Land pollution Soil contamination is a degradation of soil quality associated with the presence of chemicals. It is defined as the increase in the concentration of chemical compounds, which causes harmful changes and reduces their potential use, both by human activity and by nature

Solutions: - Recycle - Decrease water use - decrease the use of light - choose renewable energy - reduce consumption of plastic plates and glasses. .

Water Pollution:

The contamination of water likes lakes, rivers, ponds, aquifers, etc., by pollutants is called water pollution and it is one of the most harmful types of pollution. It can have extremely disastrous consequences for all living beings using the contaminated water.

Solutions: - Reduce the plastic consumption. - Reuse or recycle plastic when you can. - Properly dispose of chemical cleaners, oils, and non-biodegradable items to keep them from ending up down the drain.
