WHAT IS IT?

It is a specialized agency of the United Nations(UN). It aims to promote national cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture.

History

• Unesco was established on 4 November of 1946, in Paris.
• Unesco has been ratified by 20 countries.
• Italy was admitted only in 1947 by decision ratified the following year

A World Heritage Site is a landmark or area with legal protection by an international convention administered by UNESCO. These site are conteined in a list.

PRESENTATION

The Bernina's Red train is a Rhaetian railway that starts from Tirano, in Italy and arrives in Switzerland at St.Moritz. It passes through the Swiss Alps and is a fixed destination for tourists and an important means of transport.

The Rhaetian Railway is a perfect example of high quality, which has been crucial for the long-term development of human activities in the mountains.

It offers diverse landscapes.

HIstory

The history of the Bernina Red Train originated at the end of 1800. In December 1899 started the costrution of the railway. 5 July 1910 is the most important date in the history of the Red Train.

The Bernina red train starts from Tirano at 429 meters. Although small, Tirano is a place of unexpected beauty.
