Lesson objective:
Use time expressions in present perfect.
Already (+)
Already means that something happened earlier than we expected. Examples:
I have already done my homework.
Just
'Just' is used to indicate that something happened in the immediate past, that is a very short time ago. Examples:
The taxi has just arrived.
Yet (? , -)
Yet means that something that we expected hasn't happened. Examples:
I haven't done my homework yet.
For
We use for with a period of time, for example: a few days, half an hour, two years.
I haven't seen my friend for two years.
Since
We use since with the
time when the action started. For example: last year, June 8.
I haven't seen my friend since 2019.
Exercise: Write one example for each time expression.
