QUANTIFYING DETERMINERS

MAY 11 - UNIT 2

SECTIOn 1

Determiners and quantifiers are words we use in front of nouns. We use determiners to identify things (this book, my sister) and we use quantifiers to say how much or how many (a few people, a lot of problems).

The quantifiers ARE

any, all, many, much, most, some, a few, and a lot of, a little, a large amount of, none, and the cardinal numbers [one, two, three, four], etc. Example: I have some money but not a lot of it.

WAS - WERE

All the information pages (was - were) important.

has - have

My sister (has - have) taught me a lot.

pass - passes

A certain type of car (pass - passes) in front of my house at midnight.

IS - ARE

A number of people (is - are) in danger.
