good and bad manners Around the world

Good manners are little things we do to make life easier and more pleasant for each other. Bad manners are when you defy good manners. Manners vary from place to place. In France, for example, you’re supposed to say hello to everyone when you enter a place of business (a small one anyway). Americans don’t do this, so French people often consider us rude. We’re not—we just don’t have that custom.

Tipping: In Mexico we are very used to giving 10 or 15% of the total bill as a tip and if you do not do it, the people who accompany you despise it. If you never want to tip, you can go to Japan, where this action is considered a crime.

Open your mouth when laughing: Even if everyone appreciates a good joke or joke, it is not acceptable in all cultures to make a hysterical laughing act. Again in Japan laughing like a horse, exposing your teeth and making excessive noise, is considered unkind and if you are a girl it will make you look unladylike..

Do not reject a gift: Mexico is a specialist in "you wouldn't have bothered", while you approach and accept it, but in Asia things are not so easy. In Japan you must refuse the gift at least three times, this is part of the traditions.

Thanks!
