The history of Canada after the colonialism

The actual flag was born in 1964, when the population started to want to be identified as Canadians and not as British born in America. Before this year, the flag was the union Britain flag. It was a real debate called “Great Flag Debate” led by the prime minister Lester Pearson. It was approved by Queen Elizabeth in 1965. The flag represents a maple leaf with 11 tips.

Canada's economy, for the OECD and NAFTA, is one of the strongest in the world and is still booming, having suffered only marginally from the 2008 crisis.

According to an IMF report, Canada, driven by the export of raw materials, has avoided the obstacle of the crisis by keeping the real estate sector intact and robust and continuing to grow at a very fast pace from the beginning. The unemployment rate also remained low.

The country is among the first for PIL, and its human development index is one of the highest ever, even higher than that of the United States.
