Saponification

Saponification is a process that involves the conversion of fat, oil, or lipid, into soap and alcohol by the action of heat in the presence of aqueous alkali (e.g. NaOH).

Procedure

Pour the water solution into the oil .

Heat the oil up to 45 oC.

Mix until it thickens.

Μixe the distilled water with ΝαΟΗ.

Let it to reach 45 oC.

Leave it in the mold for 2 days.

160 gr. distilled water

58,4 gr. NaOH

482 gr. olive oil
