Famous for
British mathematician and logician, who made major contributions to mathematics, cryptanalysis, logic, philosophy, and mathematical biology and also to the new areas later named computer science, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and artificial life.
Alan Turing was responsible for breaking the Nazi Enigma code during World War II creating the machine that decipher coded Nazi messages. His work gave the Allies the edge they needed to win the war in Europe, and led to the creation of the computer.
