The Quebec school system

The school system is different in many countries.

The Quebec school system is made up of 4 levels:

• Preschool education, also called kindergarten;
• Primary and secondary education
• College education, which is divided into pre-university training and technical training

What is the difference

Differences between university colleges and community college

In College the studies end in the 3rd or 4th year after the Bachelor's degree. At the University, on the other hand, studies continue beyond that with the Master's Degree or the Doctorate.

Community colleges are slightly different from colleges and universities. They offer a two-year program. They prepare students for an Associate's Degree and allow them to transfer to Colleges or Universities afterwards.

Why I chose this university ?

I chose to do a Bachelor of Social Work at Saint Boniface University. This program lasts 4 years. After these 4 years, I would like to enter the professional world.

Why this university curriculum ?

I chose this training because it corresponds to me enormously. I like to help people who have difficulties. Then the social interests me a lot, I like to have contact with people.

Why this university ?

I chose this particular university because it is French speaking and for me it is easier to learn in my language. I think it's better to have fewer students in one institution, so that the teachers can take better care of us and are much more present for us in case of difficulties or questions. The campus is close to many activities such as restaurants, bars, cinemas. This allows us to take our minds off of things when we have a break or something.
